Innovative management systems for grain-derived maize products to reduce mycotoxins in the dairy supply chain for PDO productions

Obiettivi
Activities

The main activities involve the green extractions from agri-food by-products of bioactive molecules
with fungicidal action, that will be evaluated in the laboratory and through agronomic tests on maize
fields for zootechnical use, by observing their protective effect on the grain and on the plant
(monitoring of mycotoxins presence). Subsequently, through tests in the barn, the feeding behavior and the performances of dairy cows, fed with the products collected in the field, will be analysed.
Moreover, the antifungal action of the extracts will be also tested on the rinds of aged cheeses in the
dairy. Finally, the results in the dairy chain will be evaluated through the LCA study.
