Innovative strategies for the sustainable management of the grapevive yellows
The main objective of the project is to limit the presence of the grapevine yellows through preventive and symptom containment practices for a more sustainable management of the disease. The effectiveness depends on the timing and extent of the area where they are applied and it is essential to increase awareness that the problem must be addressed by the entire production sector. In the regional areas of settlement of the disease, practically extended to the entire Emilia area, it is also necessary to identify more targeted solutions to reduce the incidence of the disease in order to safeguard wine production.
During the project, various specific actions will be carried out: i) Survey to deepen the knowledge on the population dynamics of Scaphoideus in the regional territories; ii) Vectors control by low impact techniques; iii) Management of phytoplasmas in the plant by applying the endotherapic technique in vineyards infected with grapevine yellows; iv) Evaluation of the sanitation effect of propagation material through heat therapy; v) Limit of the vector diffusion corridors and reduction of pollution caused by chemical weeding; vi) Dissemination and Training of the results achieved.
