Development of agroecological pest protection strategies on vegetable crops, characterized by high environmental sustainability

Obiettivi
Objectives

The general objective of the project is to develop innovative strategies characterized by high
environmental sustainability, for the control of the main insect pests. The project is supported by an
agro-ecological approach, in order to enhance and implement the functional diversity at farm scale.

Activities

a) Validation of the efficacy of low input strategies for the control of the European Tarnished Plant
Bug infesting lettuce, including pheromones mass trapping and trap crops;
b) Evaluation of the efficacy of agroecological strategies for the control of aphids infesting lettuce
and cotton aphid infesting zucchini in greenhouse;
d) Evaluation of the efficacy of the combined use of trap crops and plastic mulch for the control of
flea beetles infesting cauliflower;
e) Elaboration of the results obtained through the evaluation of the environmental sustainability of the
strategies of the project, in order to include the best practices in the organic and integrated
disciplinaries.
