Enhancement of new varieties of table grapes obtained in Puglia
The project is focused on the selection of table grapes varieties made available by the CREA –
viticulture and enology section. Specifically, the project aims at providing Puglia table grapes farmers
with new varieties able to incorporate the best characteristics in terms of yields and pathology
resistance, both on field and during the cold storage phase, with good sensorial features and a high
nutritional and healthy value. The new varieties will be selected also on the basis of their ability to
adapt to the specific Puglia territory and climate.
O1. Selection of new genotypes of table grapes suitable for production in the Apulian areas.
O2. Realization at the companies of varietal transfer fields for the cultivation of table grapes with the
best cultivars proposed.
O3. Identification and selection of varieties able to withstand the effects of cold storage for long
periods.
O4. Evaluation of the environmental impact of the new cultivation systems of table grapes;
O5. Evaluation of the economic impact deriving from the planting of new cultivars through the
analysis of profitability (costs / revenues);
O6. Analysis of potential target markets;
O7. Analysis of the functioning of the supply chain.
