Developement of a sustainable and organic grapewine nursery chain
Based on the experience in the field of the grapevine nursery and on the recognized competences in the phytopathological research, the operative group proposes a cooperation project for the development of innovative methods aimed at limiting emerging plant diseases in the nursery chain, operating in the organic agriculture system.
The general aims of the project are:
• the application of phytosanitary strategies with reduced environmental and economic impact;
• the conservation of indigenous viticulture biodiversity;
• the growth of technical skills of agricultural producers and operators;
• the dissemination of organic viticulture methods.
The planned activities are:
• the realization and acquisition of goods or services necessary for the realization of the project
• the experimentation of the prevention of the diseases of the wood of the vine in relation to the cultivation method of the rootstocks, to the sanitization method of the propagation material and to the grafting method of the propagation material
• the study of favorable propagation conditions for the manifestation of graft disaffinity
• the development of an autochthonous viticultural germplasm selection approach, combined with phytosanitary tests
• the development of indicators aimed at assessing the economic and environmental sustainability of the process.
