Integrated and automated systems for indoor farming
The SIMPLe project aims to create a tool that allows to:
• Monitor production environment and products;
• Ensure greater production yield;
• Increase the environmental sustainability;
• Ensure the quality of products;
• Avoid the use of harmful substances;
• Streamline resources and reduce costs.
1) Definition of a methodology to support the expected technological innovations.
2) Design and implementation of an indoor facility for assisted production and harvesting in
agriculture.
3) Preparation of a sensor system operating according to the logic of the IoT for the collection
of data useful for the management of crops and maintenance of the structure.
4) Preparation of an environmental monitoring system and a modeling system to assess
climate change in the short and long term.
5) Design and development of a software for the management of the collected data to support
decisions related to production activities and to monitoring crops.
