Quality, Sustainability and Technology: an innovative approach to enhance wine sector

Obiettivi
Objectives

The project will take place within a framework of great and continuous regulatory change about the use of pesticides and always stricter needs from some markets about absence of active substances residues and respect of sustainability principles.
The project aims at implementing an IT system to monitor and trace cultivation practices in vineyard and grapes quality, based on the elaboration of analytical parameters, about harvesting forecast and planning through evaluation of climate data and checking of phytosanitary treatments register.

Pratice abstract
Description

- Phytosanitary conformity of grapes, according to the Directive n. 128 of 21 October 2009;
- Respect of preharvest interval;
- Traceability of the active substances used for vine phytosanitary protection in order to totally or consistently eliminate the products with the most dangerous toxicological profile, although still admitted;
- Reduction of the risks of non-compliance in the current quality company certifications with certainty of positive outcome of annual renewals;
- Simplification of internal procedures to obtain new quality company certifications;
- Improvement of inspection timing in vineyard by agronomists with an increase in work accuracy;
- Improvement in estimating grapes ripening trend with an increasing precision in defining the opening dates of cellars and an optimal scheduling of various varieties harvesting;
- Improvement in communicating with farms;
- Improvement in managing company staff and average quantities of grapes processed daily during the harvest period;
- Optimization of agronomic support by technicians to farmers;
- Availability of data, within a single IT support, that can also be used for communication purposes in order to bring the consumer closer.
