Peanut production and enhancement in Puglia

Obiettivi
Objectives

The project aims to increase today's knowledge about the cultivation of the peanut production and to
create a peanut chain in Puglia and in Italy, making it sustainable from both the economic and the
environmental viewpoint. The project will also analyse the possibility to include peanuts in the local
rotation systems, in alternation to wheat and tomato, with potential positive effects on the use of
fertilizers and agrochemicals, and will finally work to optimise the conditioning post-harvest phase.

Activities
  • Preparation of agronomic tests;
  • Selection of Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria;
  • Field tests set up to test the best results PGPB;
  • Tanning of seeds with PGPB and liquid rhizobia and microbiological analysis in the field
  • Evaluation of the presence and harmfulness of insects;
  • Definition of an eco-sustainable control protocol (organic and / or integrated);
  • Optimization of post-harvest peanut conditioning;
  • Post-conditioning peanut conservation evaluation tests;
  • Evaluation of the health quality in relation to the antioxidant activity of the product;
  • Evaluation of the environmental and economic impact and analysis of the market and the
  • supply chain;
