Pratice abstract
Description

"The permanence and the expansion of micro and small horticultural companies specially widespread in lowland and coastal Veneto area are linked to the possibility, in the next few years, of to valorize local varieties associating the intrinsic identity of the crop, to low technological input and to relevant social and local significance, in order to diversify.
In fact there are local or traditional varieties, such as Violetto di Chioggia and Broccoli fiolaro di Creazzo, nowadays not well exploited.
These horticultural varieties represent a chance for a development at the local level, and could be evaluated for the organic cultivation highlighting a potential added value, testable in terms of social productivity. The project is aimed at the development of the production of traditional vegetable varieties in open field, according to organic agriculture techniques and to self-producing strategy; the products obtained in this way will be valued in the local area, by means of two levers:
a) the use in social inclusion activities in the recovery of adults in social farm.
b) increasing consumer awareness by mean of two Ethical Purchasing Groups (G.A.S.)
The project is aimed at networking small organic farms in order to implement a prototype system that can generate added value for producers through an action in the area that favors social inclusion and consumer involvement in the production strategies."
