St Ambrose’s Basket
Organize a short chain, small-scale retail trade network, as an opportunity to commercialize products from small local farms, promoting the creation of economic and environmental added value, developing the role of a local market as an expanding outlet for local farms but also through the utilization of an on-line virtual market on line on a dedicated platform.
- Animation and coordination
- Creation of the Basket of Sant'Ambrogio: creation of the Paniere di Sant'Ambrogio brand, design and realization of artistic-multimedia installations in the market spaces, organization and management of a participatory process of research-action and awareness raising on open GO topics to local schools.
- Preparation of a promotional stall at the Sant’Ambrogio market under the Paniere brand
- Development of new products for the enhancement of beef and pork meat development of new products for the enhancement of oil, aimed at obtaining flavored oils and cosmetic products Disclosure and information
The following needs have been identified:
- for the Sant'Ambrogio Market - to intercept new users, especially the student population and other users of the meal-away-from-home by offering quality products "at zero kilometer", the need to innovate the products offered by the market, perhaps by proposing foods not to be transformed (for e.g. fruit, vegetables, dairy products) with the exception of any blending, spinning, homogenization operations; retaining market users by offering them seasonal products in the box with an assortment of products from the basket
- for farms - possibility of increasing their turnover in order to stimulate further business investments and diversification of production. Need to acquire new skills both in the production sector (agricultural production and product transformation) and in the promotion sector
Commercial practices: pursue different strategies that differ in terms of distribution, level of product transformation, and type of collaboration between the different actors involved (in particular members of Il Paniere and Market Operators of Sant'Ambrogio) to be adapted using:
1) Classification through market operators through: - sale on the counters - home delivery - collection of the ""box"" Basket
2) direct meeting between producers and consumers with demonstration moments and tasting
3) stall at the market managed with innovative communication systems
4) commercial agreements with catering establishments, university canteens etc.
