Sustainable forest management in agroforestry farms of Gargano
Gargano, by improving the profitability and efficiency of selvicoltural activities. By pursuing this
objective, the project will also allow a better valorisation and defence of wood resources in the area,
their controlled reforestation – also based on the use of indigenous species -, their maintenance and
care according to the Park Plan, the Management guidelines of the “Natura 2000” areas, the guidelines for the sustainable management of wood resources.
1. Protection and enhancement of biodiversity in the wooded areas of the Gargano.
2. Development of an active management of the forest resources of the Gargano Park.
3. Monitoring of the main insects harmful to forest environments in the Gargano Park.
4. Development of a permanent monitoring network for harmful pests.
5. Enhancement of woody biomass for energy purposes.
6. Environmental impact assessment.
7. Analysis of economic impact and profitability.
8. Market analysis of energy products.
9. Analysis of the supply chain.
