Alternative Fruitculture Sustainable
The aim of this project is to develop the sustinable production of minor fruit species in the region (plum, blueberry) and the biological control of the Fruit fly through Sterile Insect technology. Moreover the soil biodiversity shall be measured through an international protocol.
1. Coordination. 2. Safeguard of the local PDO Susina di Dro through genetic, agronomic and sanitary measures 3. Blueberry (Eco Blue) evaluation of a series of new varieties, improvement of cultivation techniques. 4. Introduction and evaluation of Sterile Insect technology for the control of Fruit Fly (Ceratitis capitata) in fruit . 5 Evaluation of the soil biodiversity of different fruit growers in species different than apple with WBF protocol. Dissemination
Genetic resources: conservation, improvement of the production of the Susina di Dro PDO plum. Blueberry: improvement of agronomy performance of new varieties in the Territory.
