A new attract and kill technique to menage Brown marmorated stink bug at territorail level in Emilia-Romagna
The goal of this project is to evaluate and validate in the regional agri-environmental context the ability of a new technique called Attract & Kill to reduce part of the population of the Brown Marmored Stink Bugs before it reaches crops, especially tree fruit crops.
The activity consists of installing A&K stations around the crops, over large areas, composed of an attractive component (specific aggregation pheromone for Brown Marmored Stink Bugs) and an insecticide (insecticide net impregnated with slow-release pyrethroid). Subsequently, the reduction of the BMSB within sites where this technique has been applied in a complementary form with the commonly applied farming management will be compared with similar control sites where only the calssical farming management has been applied.
